BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
Southwest
airlines allow one personal item and one standard-sized carry-on baggage per
customer, free of cost.
Carry-on baggage.
Personal
items like purse briefcase, laptop bag should be small in size and fit properly
in the overhead bin or under-seat storage space.
· There are no particular weight and
dimension restrictions for the personal item but the small size is preferred.
Standard
size baggage like bag pack, small trolley and sling bag is allowed as carry-on
baggage. The baggage must be fit in the overhead bin or under-seat storage
space.
· Maximum dimensions: 50 linear inches
(24 x 16 x 10 in) or 127 centimeters (61 x 41 x 28 cm) including handles and
wheels
The following
items will not count against the "one-bag plus one personal-type
item" limit:
· A child restraint device for a child
with a reserved seat
· Assistive/mobility devices for
passengers with a disability. There is no restriction of the number of
assistive/mobility devices a Customer can bring onboard the aircraft
· Garments or other wearable clothes
· Food contained in disposable
packaging
· Umbrellas

Checked baggage
Southwest
Airlines allows 2 bags standard, up to 10 bags maximum per passenger.
· Baggage must fit under these
dimensions: 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height)
· Baggage must not be heavier than
these limits: 50 pounds or 23 kilograms
The first
two checked bags are free of cost and if a passenger wants to carry more than
that, fees may apply.
If the
passenger is an active US military personnel and/or dependent then additional
bags may be checked fee-free.
Exceptional
case- From November 16 to January 16, in all flights to/from Belize, Mexico
City, Montego Bay, and San Jose, Costa Rica. Passengers are allowed only 2
checked bags.
CPAP Devices
are allowed and will not count as Checked- baggage.
Note-
Baggage heavier or greater than these standards will be charged extra according
to the airline policy.
Oversized and Overweight Baggage
· Southwest Airline will charge extra
on all bags larger than 63 to 115 linear inches or from 160 to 292 centimeters.
· Bags exceeding 115 linear inches or
292 centimeters will not be accepted as checked baggage.
